The latest and best gaming feud, Bluehole Studios’ PUBG and Epic Games’ Fortnite, is carrying to a brand new level of competition. The PUBG development team set their plans to 2018 and it appears as though they’re attempting to copy some of the successful elements of that which Fortnite contributes to this increasingly-competitive battle royale.
News comes from the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds development blog, in which the studio was hoping to clean the atmosphere and generate a prioritization set for the neighborhood. The most notable change in the works is a brand-new island map that is set to be just 4x4km — probably the biggest drama towards the Fortnite audience. This new map will be available on PUBG‘s experimental test server beginning next month.
Now, you may be asking: Why is that a move aimed at Fortnite? As noted by Redditor MoeMetA, the PUBG map is significantly larger than Fortnite‘therefore, which is roughly 3x3km as compared to 6×6:
By shrinking the map to some 4×4 distance as noticed below, PUBG‘s games will get much faster and action-packed as players are confined to more dense places from the start. This, then, will cause shorter games, something that gets near-universal praise in the battle royale genre.
Another inclusion coming to the list of modifications is the Emote System — a quality that is going to be coming to the Evaluation Server “shortly. ” To get an Concept of what this looks like, check out the gallery below:
Obviously, not everything about the roadmap is targeting the Fortnite audiences and a lot of the approaching programs are easy tweaks and shining of that which PUBG does finest. Enhancing on the images, the art team is allegedly working on all across improvements to make the game more visually pleasing. For Example, check out the new art direction on buildings:
Apart from that, the developer is thinking about incorporating fresh Game Modes, new vehicles, and new weapons to deliver some added variety. In addition, for a UI upgrade they aspire to add in Achievements, in-game buddies list, and primary menu voice chat service.
As you can imagine, yet another significant focus on your development group will be working out the kinks in equilibrium — a task that’s a much more common subject of debate for both the developers and the area. In this respect, Bluehole noted “it’s not possible to fix these issues once and for all, but our purpose is to always improve in this regard. ”
Other intermittent tweaks being worked during the entire year is an advancement in audio design, a focus on producing eSport tools, and execution and growth of Custom Games that will come afterwards through the year.
And while PUBG is now taking an aggressive stance when it comes to growth, to be the main rival Fortnite. Even in recent months, Epic Games has revealed they will support Xbox One cross-platform service, a launching onto mobile platforms, a brand new 20 person team mode, also Xbox One X optimization.
PUBG is available today on PC and Xbox One.
