Pixel Ripped 1989 Gets New Trailer and Screenshots; Launching This May


According to the press release, after nearly four decades of evolution, Pixel Ripped will officially launch on May 22 for HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, along with Oculus Rift. At  Pixel Ripped 1989, players venture to the display of classic video games. Set in the age of mobile 8-bit gambling systems, Pixel Ripped 1989 is a game-within-a-game and with all the story focusing on Dot, an inhabitant of this 2D planet who sees her world torn apart by the malicious Cyblin Lord, a villain with the capability to break through the video game display and trespass the real world.

Interestingly enough, rather than playing as Dot, players control Nicola, a second-grade student who has to assist Dot in saving both realities from the dastardly villain by tackling various challenges from the 2D universe, while concurrently deflecting the cranky instructor and evading the infuriated headmaster inside her world.

Originally, Pixel Ripped 1989‘s development started in 2014 as somewhat of a side project when the game’s founder, Ana Ribeiro, was still a student in London. Three years later, Ribeiro joined ARVORE because the game’s project manager and game developer. Furthermore, ARVORE functions as publisher and the author for the title.

To commemorate that the newly-announced launch date, also the ARVORE has also published a brand-new trailer in addition to some screenshots of the game in action, which you can check out below.

As stated previously in the article, Pixel Ripped 1989 is set to be published on May 22.
