Adhering to the reveal trailer of Rage 2 earlier today, more information about the open world first-person shooter has continued to trickle. Details like platforms as well as the box artwork were a number of the initial hints to arrive and now, it appears as if we understand who will be developing the project.
When checking out the official Rage 2 site, the English version of the website doesn’t discuss much info about who’s developing the project, though when altering the speech of the site, those details look. Upon altering the translation of this page to Dutch, Russian, Italian, or even some of the other languages provided other than Japanese and English, that the game’s description reveals Avalanche Studios and id Software will be co-developing Rage 2.
Avalanche Studios is famous for creating a litany of open-world names such as Just Cause 3 and the more closely connected apocalyptic game Mad Max. Id Software, on the other hand, served as the original developers supporting Rage and lately is most famous for the re-launch of all DOOM. It seems like Avalanche was brought on to Rage 2 to assist work on the open floor characteristics of the game whilst id Software will once more boast their own always-satisfactory shooting mechanics.
What’s fascinating about this pair working together, however, are to see whether it affects any additional rumored jobs and their timelines. Just Cause 4 and DOOM 2 happen to be much-rumored rumored titles that some thought might appear at E3 next month, but this has all just been conjecture with no proof.
In any event, we’ll surely continue to find out more about Rage 2 and either of those studio’s other projects next month throughout E3 2018.
