Throughout Take-Two’s financial conference call for the fiscal year ended on March 31st, Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick announced a new sales milestone for Grand Theft Auto V.
We noticed that the game has passed 95 million units delivered as of March 31st, 2018, following the introduction of the Premium Online Edition.
As usual, Grand Theft Auto Online surpassed the writer’s expectations throughout the past financial quarter and remains its biggest contributor for recurring consumer spending (Basically microtransactions for people who aren’t familiar with the business language).
The former shipment milestone, in over 90 million units, was declared only in February, while another in 85 million units premiered in November. This means that the game was selling roughly five million units every three months, which is bonkers.
It was originally released in September 2013 for both PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by a launch on PS4 and Xbox One in November 2014, also around PC in April 2015.
