Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire attracted players back to some rich, deep RPG adventure earlier this year alongside a fresh setting and cast of characters, and those looking for more adventures will have plenty to look forward to in a couple weeks with the release of the game’s first major expansion.

Obsidian Entertainment has announced the first of three significant expansion packs for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire called “Beast of Winter,” with the growth itself to release on August 2nd, 2018. The expansion will arrive alongside the game’s 2.0 upgrade, which will offer numerous bug fixes and equilibrium improvements and a new pair of challenge modes for veteran players.

A full description for your expansion and exactly what to expect can be found under the Obsidian:

Upon receiving a missive in an isle of all worshipers to the god of entropy and disaster, Beast of all Winter takes the Watcher and his team into the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago. The Watcher is thought to be the harbinger of the end of things and worshipers of the god of cold and decay, Rymrgand, also have called upon the Watcher to satisfy their fate.
